How do I get my W-2 from CVS online? ›

Go to www.myhr.cvs.com. Click on W-2 and Electronic Consent to view or print your W-2.

Employers can mail, email, fax or prepare a print copy for you to pick up at their location. Depending on the company, there may be a protocol in place for sharing W-2s, such as in the mail or through an encrypted system. If not, the HR professional may ask for your preference.

The former employer can mail you a physical copy or send it electronically through a payment portal.

Can I get a transcript or copy of Form W-2, Wage and Tax Statement, from the IRS? You can get a wage and income transcript, containing the Federal tax information your employer reported to the Social Security Administration (SSA), by visiting our Get Your Tax Record page.

Call their HR department - they will not be surprised at the request.

Direct your request to the company's human resources or payroll department, as they typically are the ones who issue these forms. Politely ask them to send your form, and confirm your current address or email. If you have moved since leaving the job, your W-2 form may have been sent to your old address.

If your employer has an online portal where you access paycheck information, time cards, and other employment information, log into the website to see if your W-2 can be accessed there. Even if you can't find it in your email or online, you may still be able to get it electronically.

If your employer or its representatives fails to provide you with a Form W-2, contact the IRS and we can help by providing you with a substitute Form W-2. If your employer is liquidating your 401(k) plan, you have 60 days to roll it over to another qualified retirement plan or IRA.

If the employment is terminated during the calendar year, Form W-2, Wage and Tax Statement, may be furnished anytime after termination but no later than January 31 of the succeeding year.

If you contacted your employer and still don't have your W-2, call us at 800-829-1040. Have your information ready so we can help you: Name, address and phone number.

In the event you lose your Form W–2, or require a duplicate copy you can download a copy from Cal Employee Connect under the "W-2" tab. You also can request one from the State Controller's Office.

You still must file your tax return on time even if you do not receive your Form W-2. If you cannot get a W-2 by your tax-filing deadline, you may use Form 4852, “Substitute for Form W-2, Wage and Tax Statement,” but it will delay any refund due while the information is verified.

Employers are obligated to keep copies of W-2 forms for four years, but some may keep them for longer. Be aware that some employers may charge a fee for administering a copy of your W-2. If you're unable to contact your former employer, fortunately, there's an even easier way to retrieve old W-2 forms: through the IRS.

California Employee Connect Information

CEC is the State Controller's web-based portal that allows you to view/print your paystubs and Form W-2s.

The Employee Self Service (ESS) Website and App are optional tools available to CVS Health retail colleagues only. ESS is provided for colleague convenience and is entirely voluntary.

The easiest way to access old pay stubs from CVS is to directly contact the HR department. You then need to ask them how you can obtain previous pay stubs. They should be able to access those for you. If you need to access old pay stubs by a specific date, include that when speaking with the HR department.
