CVS (Minute Clinic) Covid Test #242552 12/14/2020 05:02 PM12/14/2020 05:02 PM | Joined: Sep 2004 Posts: 79 WisconsinJenni OP Traveler | Jenni OP Traveler Joined: Sep 2004 Posts: 79 Wisconsin | Has anyone gotten a Covid Test from CVS Pharmacy? If they have, was it accepted? On the website it states that it's a PCR test but it doesn't state whether it's the required RT-PCR test. I just tried to call them to find out if it was and I was transferred to someone that was very difficult to understand. It sounded as if they were from another country. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!!! |

What one CVS uses in one area may not at all be what one uses in your area. Read some of the other posts about this as it has been discussed frequently when it comes to testing and types of tests. |

Asked about any of the ones St.Maarten approves, they do antigen test, and you get the results in 15 minutes they said. It was the abbott test she said, but we're still unclear if it was the right abbott test. This has been a continuous pain in the you know what.. Good luck I'd try calling back in hopes to get another person on the line.We are working on two different testing sites One would be free and one would be paid by us. |

This test offers results in 15 minutes and is available as an aid to diagnose the virus that causes COVID-19. |

You would have to say that you have symptoms to get an appointment (tried twice and was refused because I did not have any symptoms) I guess you could lie and say you have something but that's your choice. |

Joined: May 2007 Posts: 791 East Texas | Twice now I have scheduled Covid tests through www.doineedacovid19test.com. It is the PCR test and I got the results in 48 hours. Once you register on the website it will tell you the locations in your area. The tests I got were not for travel but could have been used for that purpose. You do have to check "yes" on having at least one of the listed symptoms. Hope this helps someone. |

Joined: Jun 2006 Posts: 986 Northern Virginia | Jenni: Same in Virginia - they will test for purposes of travel. Backend lab is LabCorp. One of our tests was turned around in 24 hours, the other one in 48 hours but they make no guarantee of turn-around time. They provided three reports - on sent to my LabCorp account, one sent to my MyChart account, and one sent to me via e-mail from CVS. The LabCorp result report is below: SARS-CoV-2, NAA Not Detected Not Detected 01 Testing was performed using the cobas(R) SARS-CoV-2 test. This nucleic acid amplification test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by LabCorp Laboratories. Nucleic acid amplification tests include PCR and TMA. This test has not been FDA cleared or approved. This test has been authorized by FDA under an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA). This test is only authorized for the duration of time the declaration that circ*mstances exist justifying the authorization of the emergency use of in vitro diagnostic tests for detection of SARS-CoV-2 virus and/or diagnosis of COVID-19 infection under section 564(b)(1) of the Act, 21 U.S.C. 360bbb-3(b) (1), unless the authorization is terminated or revoked sooner. When diagnostic testing is negative, the possibility of a false negative result should be considered in the context of a patient's recent exposures and the presence of clinical signs and symptoms consistent with COVID-19. An individual without symptoms of COVID-19 and who is not shedding SARS-CoV-2 virus would expect to have a negative (not detected) result in this assay. The report uploaded to my MyChart account had the same text with this additional header information: SARS-COV-2 RNA, QL, RT PCR (COVID-19) The report CVS sent me via e-mail also stated: Test type SARS-COV-2 RNA, QL, RT PCR (COVID-19) |

I really appreciate it. Did you have the tests performed for the purpose of traveling to St Martin? And if so, were they approved? Just to confirm also, did you do the tests for the purpose travel and pay the fee or did you provide symptoms to have the tests done? I just want to make sure we request to have the right test performed? Thanks so much for your help!!! |

We did have to pay for them $139.00 each since we were testing for travel, not due to symptoms or exposure. |
