General Information
Macros and addons are an integral part of a raider's arsenal as they canmake it easier to perform a variety of tasks, improving your overall gameexperience. On this page, we present macros and addons that can be useful to aBlood Death Knight in World of Warcraft MoP 5.4.

1.1. Generic Macros for Death Knights
1.1.1. Raise Ally

This macro casts 
Raise Ally on your mouseover target, if they are afriendly player. Otherwise, it casts Raise Ally on your current target.
1.2. Specific Macros for Blood Death Knights
1.2.1. Hand of Protection Cancelaura Macro
- /cancelaura Hand of Protection
This macro is very useful to have. It allows you to cancel a
Hand of Protection that may have been cast on you, allowing youto resume your attacks. It is also important because, while you are under theeffect of Hand of Protection, mobs will not attack you and instead will justattack the next person the aggro list (usually a DPS player).
1.2.2. Raise Dead + Death Pact Macro

This talent makes it easy for you to use 
Death Pact withouthaving to worry if your ghoul is summoned.
1.2.3. Casting Lichborne

This macro will allow you to cast 
Lichborne and then cast
Death Coil on yourself with a single button.
1.2.4. Blood Tap Macro

Since Blood Tap is off the global cooldown, this macro allows you to use up10 charges (assuming you have them) and instantly generate two Deathrunes.

2.1. Generic Addons for Death Knights
2.1.1. ElvUI
Here, at Icy Veins, we useElvUIfor all our characters. This addon is a complete replacement of the defaultUser Interface. It comes with almost everything you need to perform properly:action bars, cooldown timers, proc display, etc.
We strongly recommend that you get this addon.
2.1.2. Boss Mods: Deadly Boss Mods or Bigwigs
Boss mods are addons that warn you about boss abilities and give youlive advice on how to handle some mechanics. We strongly recommend you toget one such addon. At Icy Veins, we mostly useDeadly Boss Mods,the most popular boss mod. A good alternative isBig Wigs.
2.1.3. GTFO
GTFO is a lightweightaddon that notifies you when you are standing in harmful effects or when youare making other such mistakes. It is very useful, even if your boss mod isalready alerting you of such things.
2.1.4. Parrot or Mik's Scrolling Battle Text
Parrot andMik's Scrolling Battle Text are highlycustomisable addons for displaying floating battle text while in combat (incomingheals, damage of your spells, etc.). They both work very well by default.
2.1.5. Weak Auras
WeakAuras is anextremely useful addon that allows you to have visual effects on your screen,helping you track your buffs, debuffs and cooldowns. It is highly customisableand it can make it much, much easier to keep track of your procs and play yourspec more proficiently. It can also be used for a variety of otherfunctions.
2.1.6. Recount
Recount is awell known addon that most people use for displaying current DPS or HPS(Healing Per Second). We advise you to also use it for checking what youtake damage from and if the share of damage/healing you do with each of yourabilities is similar to that of other players of your class.
A lightweight alternative to Recount is Skada Damage Meter.
2.1.7. Magic Runes
Magic Runes is auseful and customisable addon that allows you to better track the cooldown andstate of your runes. While having this addon is not mandatory in order toperform well as a Death Knight, we feel that it can be very helpful, either asa replacement or an addition to the default Blizzard interface.
There exist several alternatives to Magic Runes, and we provide some of themore popular here in case you wish to try something else.
2.1.8. Omen Threat Meter
Omen Threat Meteris the most popular addon for displaying the current threat levels on yourtarget. We recommend you to use it to check on your current threat levels andensure that you are not being overtaken in aggro.
2.1.9. Grid and GridClickSets (Optional)
ElvUI comes with decent raid frames. The only real reason for usingGrid andGridClickSetsis if you want to be able to mouseover dead raid or party members in order toresurrect them with Raise Ally. If you choose to go with Grid, then youmight want to also use GridStatusRaidDebuff.
2.2. Specific Addons for Blood Death Knights
2.2.1. Blood Shield Tracker
For tracking the amount of damage you have taken in the last 5 seconds,and thus the potential efficiency of your Death Strike's self-heal and of yourBlood Shield, we recommend the Blood Shield Tracker addon.
