BARBOURVILLE, KY - Knox County Sheriff Mike Smith is reporting the following recent Enforcement Actions:On October 23, 2023, Deputy Jeremiah Williamson was dispatched to a fight in progress at a residence on Morris Lane in Heidrick..
After arriving at the residence and conducting an inquiry, Deputy Williamson arrested Gary Lee Liford age 50 of Heidrick, KY charging him with: Assault-4th Degree. Ashley E. Hubbard age 37 of Heidrick, KY was also arrested and charged with: two counts of Assault-4th Degree. They were lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On October 25, 2023, Deputy Jeremiah Williamson was dispatched to an assault complaint at a residence on Sydney Circle in Corbin. After arriving at the residence, Deputy Williamson learned that Ron D. Sparkman age 63 of Barbourville, KY had assaulted EMS personnel who were treating a female at the location. Ron Sparkman was arrested and charged: with Assault-4th Degree and Disorderly Conduct-2nd Degree. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On October 27, 2023, LT Sam Mullins arrested Alvin Hubbard age 28 of Gray, KY on two Knox County Arrest Warrants for: Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition-over$1000 and Theft by Deception/Cold Checks-over $1000. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On October 27, 2023, Sheriff Mike Smith and LT Sam Mullins arrested Christopher Stoots age 43 of Flat Lick, KY on two Knox County Bench Warrants for: Failure to appear on Fleeing or Evading Police-2nd Degree and two counts of Contempt of Court charges. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On October 27, 2023, deputies arrested Angela V. Lawson age 44 of Cannon, KY on a Knox County Indictment Warrant for: Possession of Controlled Substance-1st Degree, Public Intoxication/Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On October 28, 2023, LT Sam Mullins arrested Virgie Coldiron age 34 of Corbin, KY on a Whitley County Bench Warrant for: Failure to pay the fines on License to be in Possession, Failure to Wear Seat Belts, Failure to Produce Insurance Card and Failure to Notify Address Change to Department of Transportation charges. She was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.

On October 31, 2023, Deputy Jeremiah Williamson was dispatched to a two-vehicle traffic crash on Moore Creek Road in Flat Lick. After conducting an Investigation, Deputy Williamson arrested Jeffery Lee McVey age 37 of Barbourville, KY charging him with: Operating on a Suspended or Revoked Operators License, Failure to Produce an Insurance Card, and Failure to Register Transfer of Motor Vehicle. Jeffery McVey was also wanted on a Bell County Bench Warrant for failure to appear on Operating on Suspended or Revoked Operators License and Carless Driving charges. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On November 2, 2023, deputies cited Ashley DeRose age 33 of Corbin, KY to court on a Knox County Arrest Warrant for: Assault-4th Degree. She was also wanted on a Laurel County Bench Warrant for: Failure to appear on Operating on Suspended or Revoked Operators License, No Insurance, No Registration Plated, No registration Receipt, and Failure to Surrender Revoked Operators License charges. She was cited to court.

On November 4, 2023, Deputy Jeremiah Williamson responded to a disturbance at a residence on Browns Branch in Flat Lick. After contacting the parties involved, Deputy Williamson arrested Nicholas Crawford age 30 of Flat Lick, KY charging him with: Disorderly Conduct-1st Degree and Menacing. During the arrest, a “meth” pipe was found in his possession. Nicholas Crawford was then charged with: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
